The World Bank Group's MIGA features Silverlands Ranching and smallholder farmer, Brian, explaining the benefits of sustainable agriculture

Since 2013, MIGA has provided $25 million in guarantees and reinsurance to the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) in support of Silverlands Ranching Limited, an integrated cattle ranch and cropping business in Zambia. The project provides training on key areas of cattle and crop production to senior staff members, who in turn convey the knowledge to other herdsmen and farmers in an understandable and practical manner. Brian, one of the farmers, tells us how he teaches his colleagues new methods and helps them practice sustainable farming. Through demo plots, local farmers can increase yields and earnings, as well as prevent soil erosion.
